This April, Ciné-Real continues its dedication to showcasing classic films on 16mm by presenting iconic movies at The Mildmay Club:

Thursday, April 10th at 7:30 PM: Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961), directed by Blake Edwards. Experience Audrey Hepburn’s enchanting portrayal of Holly Golightly in this romantic comedy that has captivated audiences for decades.

This April at Ciné-Real at The Castle Cinema: Two films by Jean-Luc Godard — a master of cinematic reinvention — and a night of experimental shorts that similarly push the boundaries of film as a medium. All presented on beautiful 16mm.

Thursday, April 17th at 7:30 PM: Pierrot le Fou (1965), directed by Jean-Luc Godard

Ferdinand, disillusioned with bourgeois life, escapes Paris with his ex-lover Marianne in a wild, chaotic journey through love, crime, and pop-art anarchy. A vibrant, philosophical road movie that embodies the freedom of the French New Wave.

Sunday, April 20th at 11:45 AM: Masculin Féminin (1966), directed by Jean-Luc Godard

A portrait of youth in 1960s Paris, Godard weaves together politics, pop culture, and romantic disillusionment in this playful yet poignant study of “the children of Marx and Coca-Cola.”

Thursday, April 24th at 8:30 PM: Experimental Cinema Collection

A rare chance to see works by Andy Warhol, Ed Emshwiller, Scott Bartlett, and Jonas Mekas projected on film. From abstract visuals to diary films and structural experiments, these artists redefined what cinema could be.
